Gili Bidara

Gili Bidara is one of the lesser-known islands off the east coast of Lombok, Indonesia. It belongs to a group of small, unspoiled islands often called the “Secret Gilis” of East Lombok, along with Gili Kondo, Gili Petagan, and Gili Kapal. When visiting as part of an organized island-hopping tour, any environmental or landing fees are usually included in the total price of the trip. Most travelers stop here for a few hours during a full-day Secret Gilis tour, combining Gili Bidara with Gili Kondo, Gili Kapal, and Gili Petagan. These tours usually include snorkeling, relaxing on the beach, and lunch on one of the islands.

Since the island is very small, you can easily walk around it in less than an hour. For those who wish to experience true serenity, it’s possible to arrange an overnight stay with camping equipment or through limited local accommodations nearby, although options on Gili Bidara itself are minimal. Watching the sunset or sunrise over the surrounding islands is one of the highlights of staying longer.

Gili Bidara is not a surfing destination. The surrounding sea is calm and shallow, without consistent waves suitable for surfing. Activities here focus on snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, and simply relaxing by the beach.

Accessible by a short boat ride from the mainland of East Lombok, Gili Bidara is a perfect choice for anyone looking to explore a more peaceful side of Indonesia. Its crystal-clear waters, rich marine life, and untouched natural setting make it one of the hidden gems of the Secret Gilis.
